The District Administration Kiphire in convergence with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Sakhi-One Stop Centre observed the International Women’s Day on 7th March 2026 at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire. 
    Aligned with Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 campaign and the District/Block Aspirational Program, the event centred on the theme "Rights, Justice and Action, for all Women and Girls".
    The program drew a diverse crowd, including representatives from the Eastern Sumi Totimi Hoho, Tikhir Women Organisation and Akehta Sangtamlarü Thsingmüjang. Students from Government Higher Secondary School, Agape Higher Secondary School, Loyola Higher Secondary School Kiphire, along with Kiphire Town Anganwadi Workers, ASHAs, Health and Veterinary staff attended in large numbers.
    The special highlight was the seven-member brainstorming panel discussion on the theme, featuring one representative each from women’s tribal organisations, the District Programme Officer (DPO), Head DB Kiphire, Proprietor of Smoky Pots Kiphire, and Miss Kiphire 2025.
    In line with the Kiphire Aspirational Program and ongoing Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 campaign, the program provides health services including TB screening, NCD screening and an awareness talk on maternal and child health with emphasis on Ante Natal Care (ANC), institutional delivery, and child immunization by the Medical Department. The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department offered free vaccinations for pet dogs and cats, while the Social Welfare Department distributed nutritional supplements for children.
    Empowering local women entrepreneurs, the event featured Aakanksha Stall exhibition showcasing hand-woven textiles by local artisans and stall setup by the Department of Fishery, Brain Health Clinic Staff' and KVK Kiphire also displayed their products under the Aakanksha banner. 
    The program also includes Fun entertainment such as biscuit-eating, coin-finding, balloon-bursting competitions, and a flower competition, fostering community spirit.
