Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, has issued an Office Memorandum regarding invitation of Padma Awardees to official functions, it has been reiterated that Padma Awards are conferred in recognition of the distinguished and remarkable service toward the nation.

            The lifetime achievement and contribution of the Padma Awardees motivates others and impacts people's lives. It is thus imperative to recognise and honour the exemplary works done by the Padma awardees in the public arena.

            Therefore, it is requested that concerted steps may be taken to invite the Padma awardees residing in Kohima as Guest of Honour at various official functions organised by the Government.
