A Thanksgiving Programme for successful campaign of Dr. Ao Trophy 24th inter-District football Championship 2025 by Mon District Men’s Football team was organised by Mon District Administration, Mon District Football Association (MDFA) and Konyak CSOs held at Local Ground, Mon on 18th August 2025.
Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Wennyei Konyak, congratulated all the players and supporters. He said, it is not only the players but it’s also a victory for supporters. He thanked the players for bringing glory to the district, and encouraged them to keep the spirit till the end. The DC also requested them to work together and march forward for new Mon added that this is the beginning of joinery towards success.
President of Konyak Students’ Union, Temwang Konyak, while delivering the welcome address said that what we witnessed this year was not just football; it was history, where the final itself will be remembered for years to come. It was not just a match but it was a moment. Beyond the numbers, it was the spirit of our people that made this campaign unforgettable. That moment showed the world what it means to be Konyak – unity, courage and love for our land written inaction. Today's celebration is not about honouring a team but honouring a people and a spirit. This victory is not an ending, but a beginning of an inspiration for our youth to dream, to work hard and to carry the name of Mon District with pride.
SP Mon, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, IPS, said that to be a part of this celebration is a blessing for him. He congratulated and thanked the players and said that this is a dream that will be with us forever. That will keep the youngsters inspired to do better in life and to always cherish the legacy that you have given to us.
In their short speeches, the Presidents of Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong and Konyak Union congratulated and encouraged the players to keep the spirit alive.
The programme was chaired by Honjem Konyak, Asst. Professor, Wangkhao Government College, Mon. Invocation was pronounced by Rev. Moba, Pastor KBCM. Testimonial was shared by Chingmei Konyak, President MDFA, while Special Number was presented by Mr. Hentok Konyak.
Thanksgiving Prayer was pronounced by Rev. Methjen, Executive Secretary, KBBB. Vote of thanks was proposed by W. Kaiwang Konyak, G/Secy. MDFA, and the program concluded with benediction by Rev. Yeangphong, District Chaplain.
