Nagaland super league playoff 1 was held on 24th March 2024 between Longterok FC Vs 27 United FC at Chumoukedima Football Stadium. During the playoff match, Longterok FC won the match and 27 United FC was placed at 4th place.
Speaking as a special guest at the NSL play off 1 match, Minister of Rural Development, SIRD, Metsubo Jamir express his gratitude and happiness for being able to attend and witnessed the NSL playoff match. He mentioned that football is a part of Naga talent at a very young age and an important aspect of unity among the Nagas. Football brings joys to fans as well as a shared sense of community. It is an essential part of the social fabric, he added.
He pointed that promotion of sports and harnessing young talents and bringing them to the forefront is the priority of the GoN and hope that this platform will bring more young talents to participate in the near future. He also thanked Chief Minister for his active participation and contributing such visionary NSL for Naga Youth.
In conclusion, he wish the best to all the players and urged them to bring more laurels to the State.
Advisor, Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, while addressing as honoured guests at the NSL play off 1 match stated that Naga football team to take indian Football team to olympics is never late but it's the time for the Nagas to start developing and performing by taking advantage of this platform to showcase their talents merging themselves for professional football in the days to come.
She said that with the creation of this fantastic ecosystem, it is just the beginning for the many good things to come. Sports cannot survive on its own and is grateful that many big organisation and fans have come to support. She request the public to give support and give credit where it's due and follow a common approach to bring more positive changes.
Jakhalu mentioned that sports unite each and everyone and hoped that this NSL will be another beautiful chapter for the State of Nagaland and for the boys to shine. She wish all players the best and hope this place wil hold them to unlock their dream.
