The Government of Nagaland, through the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence for Foreign Languages (CoEFL) and other institutional partners is set to organized Nagaland–Japan Connect 2026 on 28th January, 2026 at 10: am, at Integrated Business Hub & Innovation Centre Dhobinala Rd, Forest Colony, Dimapur.
The event will serve as the official flag-off of a Government-to-Government partnership formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed with Kochi Prefecture, Japan, in July 2025.
The initiative is a key outcome of a high-level delegation led by Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio to Japan, during which engagements will be held with senior officials of the Government of Japan, then Indian Ambassador to Japan, and leading Japanese companies.
Nagaland–Japan Connect 2026 is envisioned as a recurring flagship event on the State’s annual calendar, aimed at strengthening international cooperation and advancing human resource development, cultural exchange, research, policy engagement, and business opportunities. It aligns with the State Government’s emphasis on human capital development to enhance employability, economic participation, and global engagement. The initiative integrates skill development, foreign language training, recruitment facilitation, and cultural exchange within a single institutional framework.
The event will also feature sensitization programmes on career opportunities in Japan, job interviews with visiting Japanese companies in sectors such as care giving, agriculture, tourism and hospitality, and manufacturing, along with testimonials, cultural activities, business-to-government (B2G) interactions, and exchange of MoUs.
