Minister for PHED & Cooperation and Chairman of the district DPDB Jacob Zhimomi, released the handbook titled Niuland Pulse: A Guide Towards Sustainable Farming during the DPDB meeting at DC’s conference hall, Niuland on 5th June 2025. Niuland Pulse is the joint initiative of the agricultural and allied department sponsored under the LADP programme of Niuland District. 

Jacob, stated that the objective of the handbook is to ensure long time growth in the agriculture sector while ensuring access to the scientific farming methods, modern knowledge, innovative techniques and access to available resources. The minister encouraged the farmers especially the youths to explore opportunities in the agriculture sector and look beyond traditional farming such as agribusiness, technology and entrepreneurship with the right vision and approach.

Referring to the PowerPoint presentation by the Power department, Er. Albert, the minister said Power consumption in the state is rising so the revenue should also increase if not the government have to sell power outside the state even if we don't have the surplus. Therefore, the minister directed the Power department officials to collaborate with the dobashis and convince the villagers to install Smart metering pre-paid system in all the villages.

Jacob also stated that Niuland district is one of the most promising districts in the state and urged all the HoDs to be sincere and dedicated in attending DPDB meeting without fail.

The board approved the renewal of Globe Nagaland Society and proposal for construction of Flat Type Quarter for Officers and staffs.
