The Multi-Level Parking facility at the NPWD Office, Kohima was inaugurated on 13th March 2026 by the Personal Secretary to the Minister for PWD (Housing), R. Rithrong, on behalf of the Minister P. Bashangmongba Chang.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister, Rithrong stated that the completion of the parking complex marks an important step in addressing the long-standing issue of limited parking space in the office premises. With the increasing number of vehicles, the facility will provide a more organized and convenient parking arrangement for staff and visitors.
The Minister conveyed his appreciation to the construction firm, engineers and technical team for their dedication and timely completion of the project. He also acknowledged the vision of the Government of Nagaland under the leadership of Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio in strengthening infrastructure and improving public service delivery in the state.
The Minister congratulated the NPWD, particularly the Housing Department, for successfully completing the project and expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to improve workplace facilities and administrative efficiency.
A technical report on the project was presented by Executive Engineer, PWD (Housing), Central Division, Kohima, Er. Nungsang Jamir. He highlighted the construction details and significance of the parking structure, and informed the total estimated cost of the building at 440.68 lakh.
Engineer-in-Chief, NPWD, Er. K. Imnajungba Jamir, in his short speech expressed his sincere appreciation to the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, the initiative of PWD (Housing) Minister, Engineer incharge and the contractors who have contributed their skills and dedication to make the project successful. He also emphasized the importance of infrastructure development to ease traffic congestion and improve urban management in the capital.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Chief Engineer, PWD (Housing), Nagaland, Er. K. Nikato Assumi. The invocation and dedicatory prayer was pronounced by M. Chuba Lam, Associate Pastor (Youth), Khiamniungan Baptist Church, Kohima.
The Special Guest also unveiled the plaque marking the official inauguration of the multi-level parking facility. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the chairperson.
