|
Criteria/Qualification for appointment of the Members, Nagaland State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (State Commission) and Members District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (District Commission) are based under Section 4(2) & Section 6 (1-13) of the Consumer Protection (Qualification for appointment, method of recruitment, procedure of appointment, term of office, resignation and removal of the President and members of the State Commission and District Commission) Rules, 2020 is mentioned below:
A. Qualifications for appointment of Member of District Commission:
(1) A person shall not be qualified for appointment as member unless he/she: -
(a) is of not less than thirty-five years of age;
(b) Possesses a bachelor’s degree from a recognised University; and
(c) is a person of ability, integrity and standing, and having special knowledge and professional experience of not less than fifteen years in consumer affairs, law, public affairs, administration, economics, commerce, industry, finance, management, engineering, technology, public health or medicine.
B. Term of Office:
(a) The Member of the District Commission shall hold office for a term of four years or up to the age of sixty-five years, whichever is earlier and shall be eligible for re-appointment for another term of four years subject to the age limit of sixty-five years.
C. Honorarium:
(a) The Member of the District Commission shall be paid an honorarium of Rs. 10000/- (Rupees ten thousand) only per month.
Interested person may submit their applications with all relevant documents to the Deputy Controller, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection Department, near Agri Office, A.G. Colony, Kohima on or before 18/06/2025, after which no application will be accepted.
