Observation of “Swachh Gaon, Surakshit Jalvayu” campaign starting from 1st June to 5th June 2026 for village functionaries was organised by the PHED, Rural Division Dimapur. For day 1 of the campaign, ‘Sensitization of Gram Panchayats and Lead Facilitators on SWM Rules, 2026 and order of the Supreme Court’, were carried out at four blocks namely Dhansiripar, Kuhuboto, Medziphema and Niuland. The participants were sensitized to comply to the 4- way segregation under the new SWM rules 2026, to avoid usage of ‘singe use plastics’, stoppage on burning of garbage and to mobilize communities to ensure cleanliness, proper operation and maintenance of SWM assets in their villages.
Active participation was shown by the villagers by attending the event and tree saplings were also be distributed to the participants to commemorate the World Environment Day in their respective villages on 5th June 2026.
