In accordance with the directive issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for strict enforcement of Rule 50 and Rule 51 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, which regulate the format, display, and size of vehicle registration plates, the Transport Department has issued a notification on 18th March, 2026, to all vehicle owners, both Government and private to remove  all kinds of unauthorized flags, emblems, names, symbols, stickers, seals, logos of any kind which are placed on the registration plate within 45 (Forty Five) days from the issue of the Notification, failing which strict action will be initiated against the defaulters.
