In view of the World Environment Day celebration  and as part of Monsoon preparedness, the District Administration and Eastern Livelihood Society (ELS) and in collaboration with Forest department, Agricultural department, Town Students Union Longkhim, Youth Ministry Longkhim town Baptist Church, all ward chairmen Longkhim town, all schools,  Government Offices and business establishments carried out Mass Social Work and plantation drive in and around Longkhim Administrative area under the theme:" Put an end to plastic pollution" on 5th June 2025 at Longkhim town.

In a short program, Forest Officer, Longkhim, Athri briefed about the importance of afforestation and the benefits of planting trees for ecological balance, climate regulation and biodiversity conservation.

While Managing Director, Eastern Livelihood Society (ELS), Koliba elaborated on the significance of the theme "Put an end to plastic pollution" and outlined the objectives of the event, where he shared how to reduce plastic waste promoting eco- friendly alternatives. Representing the Longkhim Administration HD.DB Longkhim town, Chokhaba highlighted the importance of Environment preservation and the role of community participation in achieving sustainable development.

The program was chaired by AGS (TSUL) Sethrongli and invocation prayer was pronounced by Youth Pastor, LTBC, Therise.
