On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, 78 Battalion, CRPF, Zubza, organized a series of environmental awareness and conservation activities in collaboration with Don Bosco School, Zubza.
Addressing the gathering, Commandant-78 Bn. CRPF emphasized the significance of environmental conservation and encouraged all citizens to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. The participants pledged their commitment towards protecting nature and contributing to a greener and cleaner future.
As part of the observance, a tree plantation drive was conducted at the Unit Headquarters of 78 Battalion CRPF, where officers, personnel of the battalion, teachers, and students of Don Bosco School actively participated in planting saplings. A special plantation drive also took place near F/78 Bn. Chedema camp and surrounding area where more than 150 plants were planted by Jawans of F/78 Bn. CRPF. The initiative was aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature among the younger generation.
In addition, a cleanliness drive was carried out along National Highway-29 (NH-29) in the Zubza area. Participants enthusiastically engaged in the collection and proper disposal of waste, spreading awareness about the importance of maintaining clean surroundings and preserving the environment.
This year’s World Environment Day is celebrated under the theme "Inspired by Nature- For Climate, For Our Future", highlighting the connection between nature and our future. Realising the importance of preservation of nature, the government has also launched Mega Plantation Drive. Various departments including CRPF are actively participating and undertaking activities to reach tree plantation target set by the government.
The programme witnessed active participation from CRPF personnel, school staffs, students and local citizens reflecting the collective commitment of the community towards environmental protection and sustainable development.
