ATMA Chunlikha Block, Tseminyu district conducted various demonstration and training program at different villages of the block from 19th September 2025 to 25th September 2025.
Demonstration on scientific cultivation practices of onion was conducted at Kandinu village on 19th September 2025, where the resource person from ATM, Kebegi Kent demonstrated on nursery preparation of onion seeds and plantation. She also deliberated and explained thoroughly on the important methods to be used while transplanting the seedlings, spacing, soil nutrient management and the parameters needed for good production of the crop.
On 20th September 2025, capacity building was conducted at Sishunu village, where Kebegi from ATM trained the farmers on value addition of millet, baking of cake using millet flour. Demonstration on scientific cultivation of tomato for better production and demonstration on preparation of soil mixture were also trained by the resource person.
At Tesophenyu New, demonstration on intercropping of maize and pea and cabbage was conducted by the resource person from ATM, Sinlo Khing. She also demonstrated on seed treatment of maize and pea using bio fertilizer, nursery bed preparation for cabbage and various scientific method needed for better production of the crops to the farmers.
Demonstration on scientific cultivation of banana was conducted at K. Station on 22nd September 2025, where the resource person, Sinlo Khing trained the farmer on the optimum pit size, use of neem powder, neem oil and soil solarisation and use of organic manure for better production of the crop.
Demonstration on nursery bed preparation for rabi crops was conducted at Likhwenchu village on 23rd September 2025, with Sinlo from ATMA as the resource person. Sinlo trained the farmers on the proper method of making a nursery bed. Use of bio-fertilizer was encouraged to the farmers through demonstration. The transplanting method such as spacing, soil preparation etc was also trained to the farmers.
Another demonstration on maize and pea intercropping was trained to the farmers by the resource person, Chenobu Seb. He encouraged the farmers to intercrop leguminous plant with other crops as it was a source of nitrogen which was a macronutrient needed in more quantity by the crops for their growth, and use of organic manure was encouraged for more production citing it as an important source of micro and macro nutrient need by the crop. Demo on cultivation practices was also conducted at Chunlikha and Nsunyu village respectively.
On 24th September 2025, a Farm School on Piggery was inaugurated at Kandinu village with farm teacher Dr. Joshua Kath, a veterinary graduate and a very enthusiastic person, who is aiming for integrated farm in the near future. Dr. Joshua also imparted training on pig rearing to the gathering farmers present during the inauguration. He deliberated on the use of vaccines, sanitation, and the various means needed for betterment of rearing pigs.
Training on soil nutrient management on orange orchard was conducted at Kandinu on 25th September 2025 with Chenobu Seb and Sinlo Khing from ATMA as the resource person. They spoke on various nutrients needed for the proper growth and fruiting of orange and demonstrated on making waste decomposer using Trichoderma viride, the method of preparation and its uses, jeevamrit preparation and various methods of soil nutrient management.
Demonstration on banana cultivation was also conducted at Kandinu village and G9 variety banana saplings were distributed to the farmers. Trichoderma, neem oil, neem powder and Pseudomonas fluorescens was also distributed to the farmers besides, pea, and rabi crop seeds.
