Commissioner and Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS paid an informal visit to Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK) on 26th January 2023.

Sema inspected the Department of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the hub of the 10Bed ICU which was recently inaugurated by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio. He interacted with the doctors and nurses who were stationed there. He had a Video Conference with the medical professionals from other districts through the hub of 10Bed ICU. He listened to the feedback provided by the beneficiaries of the facility and also the technical challenges that the teams in the districts faced, especially the internet connection in far-flung locations. He assured the team of his commitment and cooperation to make this project a success so that every sick patient in the state gets the maximum benefit from this noble project.

The Commissioner & Secretary talked about how technology has transformed healthcare service delivery. People from other districts no longer have to rush to Dimapur and Kohima for admission to ICU. Further, he also added that the Department has tied up with HDFC Bank for setting up the 10-bed ICU at the four newly created districts.

The Commissioner & Secretary was accompanied by Secretary, Finance & Labour, Employment and Skill Development, Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS; Principal Director, School Education & CEO, State Health Authority, K. Thavaseelan, IAS; Principal Director, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Temjentsungla, and other medical/technical professionals.

The Managing Director and her team at NHAK extended their appreciation to the Commissioner and Secretary for showing his keen interest in the welfare of the patients as well as the wellbeing of the hospital.
