Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, has issued an order stating that the condition of National Highway-29 at Chainage KM 175.350, near the Old KMC dumping site, was thoroughly assessed by the concerned authorities and found to be unfit for vehicular traffic. In the interest of public safety, the affected section of the highway will remain temporarily closed to all forms of vehicular movement with immediate effect until further notice.

As an alternative arrangement, light motor vehicles will be diverted through the Jotsoma Bypass Road. Heavy vehicles and other district-bound traffic, along with military and paramilitary vehicles, compact and mid-size pick-up trucks, and all types of heavy and mid-size commercial passenger vehicles, will be diverted via the Peducha Bridge–Tsiesema (10 Mile Road).

The Deputy Commissioner further cautioned that any violation of this order will be liable for prosecution under the relevant sections of law.
