Consultative meeting with various civil societies was held on 5th May, 2020 at Conference Hall, District Hq. Peren under the chairmanship of DC Peren cum DTF Chairman, Sentiwapang Aier. The meeting was convened to seek the opinion of the Civil Societies or Church Organisations.
At the outset, DC Peren extended his gratitude towards them for their cooperation and selfless sacrifices for the last lockdown period. He also gave a brief overview of the district preparedness in regard to COVID-19 containment and also spoke on the arrangements which are to be made for those stranded students and workers outside the State of Nagaland. CMO Peren, Dr. Denis Hangsing highlighted about the arrangement of quarantine centres under Peren district.
Executive Secy. ZBCC, Izieteilung urged the DTF Peren not to allow stranded citizens to enter their homes or villages directly after entering from other states. To ensure locally available vegetable products, Izieteilung also added organic vegetables of the district should be utilised instead of Dimapur based products.
Chairman of the Village Council Chairman Union, Peren District assured to provide volunteer services from any source in times of emergency for the interest of all as and when needed. KIN President, L.L. Kuki requested the DTF members, civil societies for massive participation and to follow the guidelines of the government in the fight against the global pandemic. Furthermore, L.L. Kuki also appealed to the citizens of the district to cooperate with the District Administration, Medical Department and Police personnel.
