District Level Co-ordination Committee (DLCC) meeting for the 8th Economic Census was convened on 18th June 2025 at Deputy Commissioner's Conference Room Mokokchung. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS.
Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma emphasized the importance of DLCC members to provide all necessary logistics support for the census and stressed the need to create public awareness about the economic census and sensitize the public.
District Economic & Statistics Officer Mokokchung, Aoluen briefed the members about the importance of the 8th Economic Census which will be conducted using advanced Information & Communication Technology (ICT), which would facilitate Geo-codes embedded data collection on mobile devices, real time data validation and scrutiny, and interactive Management Information System (MIS) dashboards for monitoring and supervision. He also highlighted the objective of the 8th Economic Census focusing particularly on the non-agricultural sector, engaged in production or distribution of goods/services (other than for the purpose of own consumption). It was also informed that establishment engagement in crops production and plantation, establishment engaged in public administration, defence, compulsory social security, illegal activities and activities of territorial organisation and bodies will not be covered.
The meeting also deliberated on the requirement for manpower, IT personnel, identification of master trainers, supervisor and enumerators for the 8th Economic Census in the district.
