Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat has issued an order stating that in pursuance of Article 188 of the Constitution of India, La. Ganesan, Governor of Nagaland, appointed Mhathung Yanthan, Member of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, as the person before whom the Members of the said Assembly shall make and subscribe their oath or affirmation according to the form set out for the said purpose in the Third Schedule of the Constitution until a Speaker is elected and thereafter, the Members of the said Assembly shall make and subscribe the said oath or affirmation before the following:

1. The Speaker, or
2. The Deputy Speaker, or
3. The person determined by the Rules of Procedure of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly to act as Speaker or the person determined by the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly to act as Speaker under Article 180 (2) of the Constitution.

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by Clause (1) of Article 180 of the Constitution of India, the Governor appointed Mhathung Yanthan, a Member of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, to perform the duties of the Speaker of the said Legislative Assembly with effect from the date and time of vacation of the Office of the Speaker of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly by Sharingain Longkumer and until a Speaker is elected by that Assembly.
