The Directorate of Higher Education Has notified that the Scheme Implementing Agency has highlighting some of the changes that have been done by the Funding Agency. Students, Educational Institutions and Hostels that deals with Post Matric Scholarship for ST students are to take note of the following Changes:

FOR STUDENTS

1.      The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has come out with the revised guidelines for implementation with immediate effect. 

2.      The family annual income ceiling from all sources remains the same as ₹.2.50 lakh per annum.

3.      The Obligatory fee and Stipend (maintenance fee) remains the same for all the categories but for disable students, the stipend has been enhanced to ₹.7200 for day scholar and ₹.9600 for hosteller (annually).

FOR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

1.        All Educational Institutions within and outside the State and of both Govt. and private have to be empanelled with the Scheme Implementing Agency in order to let the deserving students avail the ST Scholarship without which no Scholarship can be awarded. To empanel with the Scheme Implementing Agency, Institutions are required to furnish the necessary details like Registration, affiliation, accreditation, courses offered and number of seats approved for each course.

For this, the Scheme Implementing Agency has come out with a readymade format to be filled by the Educational Institutions within Nagaland which is available in the Directorate’s website.

2.        Institutions within the State will maintain hard/physical copies submitted by the students/applicants for safe custody.

3.        It is mandatory for all Educational Institutions to nominate one Nodal Officer to correspond with the Scheme Implementing Agency for better coordination and effective implementation of the Scheme.

FOR HOSTELS

1.        The term ‘Hostel’ is applicable to a common residential building and a common mess for the students runs under the supervision of the Educational Institution Authorities but if the Institutions are unable to provide accommodation within the Institute run hostels for their students, an approved place of residence can also be treated as Hostel for the purpose of this Scheme.

For this, the Scheme Implementing Agency has come out with a readymade format to be filled by the warden/proprietor in order to claim hostel form (Without which no hostel form will be issued). Therefore, all the Hostels that are registered under our establishment are directed to take note of this in order to claim hostel form. The format is available in the directorate’s website.

The revised guidelines can also be viewed in the Directorate’s website i.e. www.highereducation.nagaland.gov.inThe revised guideline will apply prospectively from the Academic Session 2023-24.
