The mega NCC Camp that was held in Wokha came to an end after a flurry of activities. The camp was organized by NCC Group Kohima under the aegis of 25 Naga Bn NCC, Mokokchung from 07-16 Jun 23.
It was earlier announced by the Group Commander Brig PS Sangwan that the focus of the camp will be to hone the cadets’ skill sets, personality development, career guidance, and placement assistance in the Airline, Hospitality, and Cruiseline industries in addition to the regular NCC training like PT, drill, weapon training, etc.
In the 10 days long camp, the cadets were put through personality development exercises, motivation lectures, workshops on career opportunities in the Armed Forces, life skills workshops conducted by domain specialists in Voluntary Blood Donation, Prevention of HIV/AIDS, Emergency Response to Fire and Natural Disasters, First Aid, etc.
A special half-day workshop was also organized in collaboration with M/S Emporium Training & Consultancy Pvt Ltd, Dimapur to educate the cadets about the job opportunities in the Airline Industry as Cabin Crew and ground staff, Hospitality Industry, and International Cruise Lines. Due to the overwhelming response from the cadets, the experts conducted a mock interview for the interested cadets to give them a live experience of job interviews. Nzanthung Tungoe, an ex-NCC cadet with ‘C’ Certificate qualification was presented with the on-the-spot job offer due to his brilliant performance in the interview.
The camp had an attendance of 526 cadets from schools and colleges in almost all districts of Nagaland apart from 10 Associate/Caretaker officers and a host of permanent instructors and civilian staff.
The closing ceremony was marked by a colorful cultural programme by the cadets and a prize distribution ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Col CST Swamy, Camp Commandant and Commanding Officer, 25 Naga Bn NCC commended the enthusiastic participation of the cadets in all the activities and also felicitated the prize winners.
He extended his sincere gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, Supdt of Police, Chief Medical Officer, Dist ART Centre, Chairman of Municipal Committee, and Officer Commanding, Nagaland Fire and Rescue Services of Wokha for their support in the successful conduct of the camp.
The Camp Commandant also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to HQ IGAR (N), 5 Sect AR, 40 and 45 Assam Rifles for making all Wokha Camp facilities available for the camp's smooth conduct to HQ IGAR (N), 5 Sect AR, 40 and 45 Assam Rifles for making all facilities in the Wokha Camp available for the smooth conduct of the camp.
