In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), the Government of India established Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to provide good quality modern education to talented children predominantly from the rural areas. As of now 649 JNVs have been established across the country.

Admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Class VI is made through Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas Selection Test (JNVST). The Online Registration for the Class VI Selection Test is being done through the link www.navodaya.gov.in given at the NVS website and the last date for submission of the application is 31st January 2023. JNVs in the districts have been instructed to provide facilitation to students in registration and the details of selection test.

As the aspirants for the said test are from remote localities of the district, concerted efforts to reach out to them are essential without which many deserving and meritorious students may not get the information about the online registration facility.

Therefore, the Directorate of School Education has informed all DEOs, Sr. SDEOs and SDEOs to use various platforms under their command to give wide publicity about the Online Registration for appearing in the JNV Selection Test and also about the infrastructure & modern quality education imparted at JNVs free of cost.
