District Magistrate Peren, Vineet Kumar, IAS in an order dated 18th January 2023 has informed that to conduct free, fair participative, accessible, inclusive and safe Election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023, and in exercise of the power conferred under section 144 CrPC, 1973 has prohibited carrying of any kind of arms or ammunition by any person within Peren District. 

All licensed arms unless exempted under law shall be deposited at the nearest police station.

He further informed that the order is applicable to all the persons within Peren district except the Police personnel and the Security forces and the Officials/personnel involved in law and order duty.

The District Magistrate also stated that in view of the emergent nature, the order has been issued ex-parte and is addressed to the public in general.

This order shall take immediate effect and shall be effective till the declaration of result as per the press note of ECI.
