DC and DEO Tuensang, Nokchasashi, NCS has informed that with the announcement of election Model Code of Conduct which has come into force within the state of Nagaland with immediate effect and based on the instructions of the Election Commission of India regarding the enforcement of model code of conduct and inputs received from police and in exercise of power conferred under 144 CrPC, 1973 prohibit the carrying of any kind arms or ammunition by any person within Tuensang district and that all licensed arms unless exempted under law should be deposited at the nearest police station.
Further, the Model Code of Conduct will be enforced within Tuensang district with the following guidelines:
1. Use of public address system or loud speakers or any sound amplifiers whether fitted on vehicles of any kind whatsoever or in static position used for public meetings for electioneering purpose during the entire election period ending with the date of declaration of result shall not be permitted at night between 10:00PM - 6:00AM.
2. All political parties campaigning, meeting, rallies, procession in connection with elections shall be held only after obtaining due permission from the competent authority and intimation to the concerned Police Station. Further, due permission shall be obtained for use of loud speakers and vehicles during the campaign.
3. All banners, posters, hoardings, etc., carrying political symbols, photos of political and any wall writing, defacement in any forms, flags, etc., on Government property shall be removed within 24 hours.
4. Further, all unauthorized political advertisements in the form of wall writing,posters, papers or defacement in any other form at public property and public space like bus stands, roadways, buses, electric/telephone poles, municipal/local bodies building, etc., shall be removed within 48 hours. The same shall be complied with private properties also within 72 hours.
5. There shall be a total ban on use of official vehicle by political party, candidate or any other person connected with election (except officials performing any election related official duty) for campaigning, electioneering or election related travel during elections.
DC and DEO Tuensang, Nokchasashi, NCS further informed that this order shall be applicable to all persons within Tuensang district except the Police personnel and the security forces and the Officials/personnel involved in law and order duty and that the order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall be effective till the completion of the election process within Tuensang district as per the election notification.
