The Angami Women Organization (AWO) expressed immense joy at the creation of history by electing the first two women MLAs in the just concluded 14th General Election held on the 27th of February 2023. Salhoutuonuo Kruse, former AWO President was elected from the 8th Western Angami Constituency and Hekani Jakhalu Kense was elected from Dimapur III Constituency. Both of them as first-timers in politics put up a tough fight against their strong opponents, in order to gain their space in 60 years, which has been a male-dominated domain.
While AWO celebrates the victories with great joy and pride, it also thanked the Chief Minister and NNDP party men/ women for giving them party tickets despite stiff competition, which is an additional advantage for their victory.

The Angami Women Organization has wished them a successful political career and prays for God’s wisdom and guidance upon them in their new political journey.
