In pursuance to State Government notification declaring all Educational Institutions, Government and Private Health establishments as Tobacco Free, National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), Nagaland conducted joint enforcement drive in eleven (11) NTCP districts on 9th May 2023.

District Anti-Tobacco Squad penalized shops under Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA 2003) - two shops under Section 6(a), 114 shops under 6(b) and two shops under Section 7.  Fine amounting to Rs. 14,730 have been collected and samples from seized products are kept to be sent for testing at Guwahati.
