On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, Peren District acknowledged the efforts of the women welfare organizations in Tening Town and the Peren Town Women Organization. These organizations have been actively promoting the welfare of women and the girl child, providing financial assistance to destitute women, and setting up initiatives like piggeries to enhance women's livelihoods. Additionally, Rev. Dr. Mongzeung Mpom, the Director of Kingdom Steward, a non-profit organization in Jalukie, was recognized for his dedication towards the welfare of women and youth in Peren District.

The Peren District government handed over citation certificates of gratitude to these organizations and individuals for their significant contributions in promoting women and girl child's welfare in the district. The certificates were presented by the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland, P. Paiwang Konyak.
