The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Phek convened its regular monthly meeting on the 10th of August, 2023 at the DPDB Hall in Phek. The session was chaired by Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, Vice Chairman of DPDB and Deputy Commissioner of Phek.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome extended to all members by the Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman. This was followed by a review of the minutes from the previous meeting.

The central topic of discussion was the proposals for Local Area Development Programmes for the upcoming year 2023-2024. The participants reached a consensus to forward these proposals to the State Planning Board for approval.

A noteworthy agenda was raised by the Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, regarding the re-christening of PDSA to PDOA. The house expressed agreement in principle to integrate the proposed modalities into the PDOA structure. The recommended office bearers for the PDOA included:

Governing Body: President: Chairman DPDB, Vice President: Deputy Commissioner, Member Secretary: DSO, Organizing Secretary: Select/Nominate, Executive Members: All MLAs, with 4 persons selected/nominated from the General body.

It was determined that the Phek District Olympic Association would function in coordination with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports and the Nagaland Olympic Association.

Additional discussions included the registration of the Vaphi Society in Phek Village, with an agreement to forward the matter to higher authorities for necessary action. Furthermore, preparations for the upcoming 50th Anniversary Celebration of Phek District were addressed. Advisor CAWD & Taxes called upon various office heads and committees to actively contribute and promptly provide reasonable budgets.

The meeting also featured presentations by managers from telecom service providers (Jio, Airtel, and BSNL) in the district, showcasing their service activities.

In his address, the President of the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO), Vezuhu Keyho, appealed to officers stationed in the district to collaborate and strive for optimal outcomes.
