In a major boost to Agri and allied activities in the state, MLA, Imtichoba Chang inaugurated the Static Soil Testing Laboratory (STL) of the SDO Soil & Water Conservation at Pughoboto Subdivision under Zunheboto District in the presence of ADC Tiameren Chang and SDO (S&W) Dr Alika Zhimo on 15th August, 2024.

Jointly funded by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India and the Government of Nagaland, the STL is established under the scheme Soil Health Card under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). Under this scheme, the farmer’s soil is tested and Soil Health Card(SHC) is distributed which will contain the status of the soil with respect to 12 parameters viz. N,P,K (Macro-nutrients); S (Secondary- nutrient); Zn, Fe, Cu, Mn, Bo (Micro - nutrients); and pH, EC, OC (Physical parameters). The SHC will also indicate fertilizer recommendations and soil amendment required for the farm.
