The evening programme of the 79^th Independence Day was held at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on 15^th August 2025 with Home Commissioner, Nagaland, Anoop Khinchi as the Special Guest. The programme began with an Exhibition Football Match between DGP XI vs. Morning Premier League Team which the Morning Premier League Team won on penalties.

The Football Match was followed by the prize distribution ceremony wherein 15^th NAP (IR) Mahila Bn, 13 Assam Rifles and 10th NAP (IR) Bn were awarded the first, second and third best parade contingents respectively in the Uniformed Service Contingents category while 1^st Nagaland Girls Batallion Kohima and the 24^th Nagaland (1) Coy NCC Kohima were awarded the first and second best contingents in the School Contingents category.

The programme concluded with the Band display and the Beating of Retreat by the 13 Assam Rifles Pipe Band, NPTS Brass Band, Nagaland Police 15^th NAP (IR) Mahila Pipe Band and Nagaland Police Auxillary Brass Band.
