District Magistrate, Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS stated that it has been brought to the notice of the undersigned by the Assam Rifles that unauthorised/ civil drone activities have been observed in and around Assam Rifles camp area in Mon District which poses a serious threat to security, public order, and safety.

              Therefore, in exercise of the power conferred under the relevant provisions of laws, he has issued an order directing all citizens, residents, visitors, organisations and media persons to strictly refrain from flying, operating or using drones/UVAs in the areas:

1.       in and around Assam Rifles camps and military establishments.

2.       Other restricted, sensitive and notified areas within Mon District.

The order further states that, any person found violating the order shall be liable for legal action and such drones shall be neutralised/ jammed/confiscated by security agencies as deemed necessary.

The order comes into immediate effect and shall remain in force until further order.
