The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chümoukedima, has informed that a Mock Disaster Management Exercise will be conducted on 29th and 30th January 2026 in Chümoukedima.

The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, DDMA Chümoukedima, Polan John stated that the exercise is intended to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure effective coordination among all stakeholder departments and agencies.

All concerned departments, including police, medical, fire and emergency services, village authorities, youth organisations, and line departments have been requested to extend full cooperation and take necessary action for the successful conduct of the mock exercise.

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima said the mock exercise will be organised in coordination with the 12th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Kohima. The exercise aims to assess preparedness, response mechanisms, and inter-departmental coordination during disaster situations. As per the schedule, a Tabletop Exercise will be held on January 29, 2026, at 11:00 am at the DC’s Conference Hall, Chümoukedima. This will be followed by a full-scale Mock Exercise on January 30, 2026 from 11:00 am at Chümoukedima Village ground.
