Deputy Commissioner Peren, Hiazu Meru has notified to all the recognised Villages under Peren district on 9th March 2026, the selection of new Village Council members for the tenure 2026 to 2031, consequent upon the tenure of the present Village Councils coming to an end. 
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that as per the section 7 (1) of the said Act the Village Council will choose a members Chairman of the Council. Deputy Commissioner Peren further informed that the entire process of selection of new Village Council members must be completed before 15th of April 2026 for onward submission to the Government. The proposed List of village Council members of the newly constituted village councils shall be submitted to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Peren through their respective area Administrative Officer.
Deputy Commissioner Peren also informed that the village Councils under Peren district shall hereby stand dissolved with immediate effect. He also further stated that the village councils under Peren district shall hereby  stand dissolved with immediate effect and the Head G.B. shall assume charge of the village  administration till constitution of the new Village Council.
