In view of the Bye Election to 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency, the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland has issued a press note on n20th March 2026, informing that the First Randomization of FLC passed EVMs and VVPATs is done by the District Election Officer to allocate EVMs and VVPATs Assembly Constituency/Segment-wise. Detailed instructions on First Randomization of EVMs and VVPATs are mentioned in Manual on Electronic Voting Machine, which is available in ECI website: https://-wwwecigovni/evm-vvpat. 
It informed that the First Randomization of EVIMs and VVPATs to be use in the upcoming Bye-election to 28- Koridang Assembly Constituency under Mokokchung district was done on I9th March 2026. 
First Randomization of EVMs and VVPATs is done through EVM Management System (EMS) by the District Election Officer concerned in the presence of the representatives of National and State Recognised Political Parties. 
After completion Of First Randomization, lists of EVMs and VVPATs allocated Constituency-wise will be shared with all the National and State Recognised Political Parties at district headquarters. Thereafter, the EVMs and NIVPATs will be provided to the Returning Officers Assistant Returning Officers concerned for use in elections. These EVMs and VVPATs will be stored in respective Assembly Strong Room in the presence of the representatives of National and State Recognised Political Parties. 
After finalization of list of contesting candidates, the list of first randomized EVMs and VVPATs will be shared to all the contesting candidates also.
