A felicitation programme under IndiaSkills Nagaland 2025 was held on March 25, 2026, at the Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in Kohima, where Advisor for Labour, Employment & Skill Development and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer, attended as the special guest to recognise and encourage skilled youth in the state.
The IndiaSkills 2025–2026 Nagaland State Competition was conducted to identify and nurture skilled youth for participation at regional and national levels, while promoting excellence in vocational skills across the state.
Advisor, Moatoshi Longkumer described the occasion as a moment of transition where achievement meets responsibility. He congratulated the state-level and regional winners of the IndiaSkills Competition 2025–26, stating that they represent skill, discipline, and determination. He emphasised that skill is not secondary but a source of power, dignity, and nation-building.
Referring to the upcoming national competition, he said the participants would carry the hopes of the people, the pride of their mentors, and the aspirations of many young individuals. He noted that the competition is not only about winning medals but also about maintaining standards, precision, and professionalism, adding that the ability to perform under pressure reflects character.
Highlighting the role of mentors, Longkumer said their contribution is invaluable, as every skilled competitor is shaped by dedicated teachers and institutions. He urged the participants to compete with confidence and integrity, reminding them that they belong on the national stage and should aim to return not just with medals, but with experience and a stronger vision for the future.
A total of 147 candidates registered through the Skill India Digital Hub portal, out of which 57 qualified for the state-level competition in three categories: Restaurant Service, Fashion Technology, and Graphic Design Technology.
