The first Phase of IT Equipment distribution program for Tuensang district was held at District Economics & Statistics Office, Tuensang on 14th April 2026.

Secretary, Economics & Statistics and Chief Registrar of Births & Deaths Nagaland in her Speech highlighted that Registration of Births and Deaths are very important not only for proof of identity but also for data collection of population, where the Government is dependent on this data for developmental schemes.

She said that in the first Phase, 15 villages are covered by providing IT equipment to the Registrar for enrolment of Birth and Death certificates at the village level. While highlighting the current scenario of online registration, she said the manual certificates are replaced by digital certification and urged the stakeholders to make good use of the equipment for the benefits of the community.

DC Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, and Director & Additional Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths Nagaland, Neidilhou Keditsu also proposed short speeches. The programme was chaired by DESO & District Registrar of Births and Deaths, Tuensang, P. Sokum.
