In pursuance of the directives of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Government of Nagaland has constituted the State Level Steering and Monitoring Committee, District Level Drug Demand Reduction Committee and Block Level Drug Demand Reduction Committee for effective implementation of the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) in the State.
According to a notification issued by the Social Welfare Department, the committees have been constituted to strengthen coordination, monitoring and implementation of drug demand reduction initiatives at the State, district and block levels.

The notification stated that the committees will oversee planning, coordination, monitoring, awareness generation, rehabilitation support, community-based interventions etc., under NAPDDR and NMBA, with the State Level Committee meeting quarterly and the District and Block Level Committees meeting monthly.
