APC Nagaland who is also incharge of Dimapur district for COVID-19 activities, Y.Kikheto Sema informed that the special train from Chennai was expected to reach Dimapur on 22nd May 2020.

Speaking to DPRO Dimapur, Sema informed that the special with 1464 stranded people would depart Chennai on 19th May evening.

Meanwhile Kikheto expressed gratitude, noting that some churches/communities are coming forward to host and welcome the returnees.

It may be mentioned that following the appeal from the Government/district administration to the churches, the Executive Committee of Kuda Village Baptist Church (KVBC) resolved to house all the asymptomatic Angamis from Kuda Village, Nagarjan jurisdiction, returning from outside the state, at its guest House within the church premises. Sema met with the members of the KVBC today and expressed his appreciation for their gesture in responding to the call of the pandemic. Further, Sema noted with gratitude that a sense of security has started to click in the minds of the people with the realisation that the stranded returnees are none other than our own children/brothers and sisters. He also informed that the Government is getting more positive feedback as more communities/churches are coming forward to help and cooperate with the government and district administration.
