Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland along with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Kohima is organizing ‘Walkathon’ programme with the theme “A Step for Participative Elections” on 9th November 2022 starting at 6:30 AM from Sokhriezie Park, PHQ Junction, Kohima and ending at Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Office Complex, Kohima, given the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, where the Draft rolls will be published throughout the State on 9th November 2022. This is following the direction of the Election Commission of India. Various Chief Electoral Officers are organizing such activities in their respective States/UTs, on this day. The Walkathon is organized to create awareness among the citizens inviting participation in the electoral process by registering names in the electoral roll during the current revision of electoral rolls. It is appealed to the people from different walks of life like celebrities, sports enthusiasts, Officers, State/District Icons and others to participate in the Walkathon.
