INTERNATION DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE OBSERVED IN DIMAPUR

Dr. Mhalo Ezung, NPS, DCP (HQ) said the International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is observed annually on the 26th of June every year since 1989. The date June 26 is to commemorate lin Lexus's dismantling of the opium trade in humans.

She spoke on the history of the event and maintained that all persons over the world should be aware and raise their voices against the problem drugs pose to society.

This year the theme is "Addressing Drug Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crisis". The event addressed the issue of transnational drug challenges during Covid-19.

Rothihu Tetseo, IPS Commissioner of Police Dimapur flagged off the first All-women two-wheeler Rally moving out from CP office - CMD - CP office, and the Foot Rally: from CP office - city tower - CP office.
