On 8th March 2022, Shamator district celebrated International Women's Day at DBs' Hall Shamator Town in the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao with SP Shamator, Amit Kumar, IPS as special guest. He acknowledged the women of Shamator for upholding positive responsibilities in their family and society despite their educational backgrounds, and he hoped that the celebration would inspire women to build a better future.

DC Shamator, Thsuvisie Phoji, exhorting the gathering, said there is a huge change in Naga society today as women are taking positive roles in the everyday life.

            Convenor of SEWA Shamator Unit, Esther delivered a short speech. Participants from 11 wards took part in the extempore competition as part of the celebration, and Berila was declared the winner; Kihola and Youngtsula secured the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
