Kisan Mela under Jal Shakti Abhiyan and Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari, under the theme "Catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls" was jointly organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra and District Horticulture Department was held at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire on 30th May 2022.

Special guest, Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Wati Aier while addressing the gathering lauded the organizers and said that organizing such an event will benefit farmers, SHGs, and NGOs under the Kiphire district. He also said that under the PMFME scheme, there is ODOP (One District One Product scheme) wherein Kholar or beans has been selected for the Kiphire district under the Ministry of Food Processing Industry. The DC also highlighted various schemes provided by the state and central government, where he encouraged the participants to have faith in government and approach concerned departments to avail such opportunities.

Earlier Horticulture, Agriculture, and KVK departments distributed various seeds like mushroom spawn, peanuts, maize, soya bean, groundnuts, etc. along with pesticides and other farmer kits to the farmers.

The programme was attended by the 7th Assam Rifles and various departments from Soil & Water Conservation, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, and farmers under Kiphire district.
