A farewell programme in honour of the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie NCS, EAC Changsang and SDO (C) Alemyapang Longchar was held in DC's Conference Hall Kohima on 9th October 2020. 

The outgoing Deputy Commissioner in his farewell speech thanked the State Government for giving him the opportunity to serve for the people of Kohima district. He said that with the support and coordination amongst his officers, the district could come thus far by being able to address various issues in the management system, maintaining law and order and moreover in this pandemic crisis. "The achievements were made possible only because of every officers have contributed their valuable services" he added. 

The outgoing DC also said that he had learnt many things during his short tenure and expressed that he had a wonderful experience as the head of the district. He further appreciated the efforts and contributions rendered by his Officers and line departments in the fight of COVID pandemic. He also encouraged them to continue with the team work in future and wished them to keep flying the district administration flag in days to come. Gregory will be joining his new assignment as Additional Secretary Power posted at Nagaland Civil Secretariat.

Farewell speeches were also delivered by the outgoing SDO (C) Jakhama Alemyapang Longchar and EAC Kohima, I. Changsang who were also transfered and posted as SDO (c) Athibung and EAC Panso respectively.

Speech on behalf of Officers & Staff of DC’s Office was delivered by SDO (C) Estb. Daniel Angami while CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu also spoke during the occasion.

The function was chaired by ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa who also delivered the welcome address. Rev. Vicavor Krose Director ABCCTK invoked God's blessing while special song was presented by Khunyü PA to DC Kohima and party and vote of thanks was proposed by SDO (C) Sadar, Shaying Sheu.
