Kohima District Planning and Development Board meeting for the month of March 2021 was held in DPDB's Conference Hall, Kohima on 15th March 2021. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman DPDB and DC, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS in presence of Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Neikiesalie Nicky Kire and MLA, Keneizhakho Nakhro.
On Jotsoma Nature Conservation Eco Tourism (JNCET) taken up in the last meetings, the House decided to recommend the matter to the Government based on the verification report submitted by Area Administration Officer along with Forest Department and others.
On the agenda of registration of societies, the representatives of each applicant societies namely Nagaland Optometrist Association, Secretariat Road; Universal Health Coverage Nagaland, Directorate of H&FW; Nagaland Taekwondo Association, Rüziezou P. Khel Kohima Village and Benevolent Accord Society Rüsoma presented their activities, aims and objectives during the meeting. The House after thorough deliberation on the matter decided to recommend the four societies to the Government based on the criteria fulfilled by each societies and as recommended by the District Screening Committee.
The House also took up the earlier proposal for upgradation of Kigwema High School to Higher Secondary School (Science stream) where the District Education Officer, Kohima, Neizetuonuo presented the verification report stating that the school has fulfilled all required documents for upgradation. The members also shared their views on the upgradation and supported the proposal where the House further considering the need to come up with more Science stream in Government establishments, decided to recommend it to the Government for further necessary action.
District Project Officer, Land Resources, Dr. Menuosietuo Tseikha gave a PowerPoint presentation on the departmental activities while PHED (Urban) has been entrusted to present departmental activities in the next DPDB Meeting.
