Kohima District Task Force on COVID 19 held its meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kohima Mohammed Ali Shihab A in present of Minister in-charge of Kohima district on COVID 19, Minister for PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire in DC's Conference Hall Kohima on 13th January 2021.

ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa highlighted the status of the district in regard to District Task Force activities.

The meeting discussed on the agenda of official closer of Quarantine Centres at K. Badze, ATI and I.G Stadium Kohima where Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu briefed the members on the status of the Quarantine Centres. She informed that since second week of December 2020, no returnees have been reported at Quarantine Centres as returnees have opted for paid quarantine or home Isolation, however some blocks at K. Badze were still occupying by the paramilitary forces. She also informed that no COVID positive patient have been admitted in Meriema COVID Care Centre (CCC) for the last three days. Twenty-five (25) active cases in the district at present, out of which three have been admitted in NHAK and the rest in Home Isolation, CMO further informed.

The house deliberated on the matter and basing on the new SOP issued by the State Government, decided to discontinue Quarantine Centres at K. Badze, ATI and IG Stadium for returnees and also for BRTF and BSF. However, it was decided that K. Badze will be continued for use by Medical department for Quarantining of Medical staffs COVID-19 duty. The meeting also decided to continue with the operation of Meriema COVID Care Centre (CCC) with the Medical Teams been in place. 

On the agenda of withdrawal of security personnel and volunteers from the Quarantine Centres, the meeting decided for rational deployment of security personnel and volunteers to be continued at Meriema CCC.

On withdrawal of security and medical personnel from the Inter-State Check Gates, Khuzama relating to COVID duty, the meeting decided to refer the matter to the State High Power Committee on COVID for necessary direction to the DTF.

With regard to shifting of Triage OPD from T. T. Stadium, Kohima, the meeting decided to survey alternative site for operation of the Triage OPD, where ADC along with CMO were entrusted for the matter.

The DTF meeting also deliberated on the roll out of COVID-19 Vaccination where CMO Dr. Vezokholu gave a PowerPoint presentation on the introduction of COVID-19 Vaccine, operational planning for vaccination, types of session sites for different priority groups, role of vaccination officers and other vaccine management. 

DIO Dr. Rupert and Dr. Imli also presented on frequently asked questions on COVID-19 Vaccine and its related matters, preparedness level and also shared on the observation and challenges faced during the COVID-19 Vaccination dry run conducted at NHAK, UPHC Seikhazou and PHC Kimipfüphe, Kohima recently.

In this regard DC said proper micro plan is required, which needs to be sensitised to the masses. He therefore call for a seperate meeting to have proper planning and further sought for collective efforts of all section of stakeholders and Departments in this multiple challenges. He also directed his Administration officers to hold meeting in their respective areas for planning in order to implement the Vaccination successfully.
