Dharmendra Prakash IFS, PCCF & HoFF, Nagaland released the book, Feathers and Leaves: Flora and Fauna Documented in Forest Colony, Kohima an initiative of Kohima Forest Division on 6th December 2022 at Forest Office Complex, Kohima.
Briefing about the book, Rajkumar M. IFS, DFO Kohima, who conceptualized the book, said that people generally see Forest Colony, Kohima as a residential area with offices around but a huge part of the area is covered by forest which serves as a haven for the rich flora and fauna. He said that the idea behind this book is that, by reading it people would want to contribute their part in conserving biodiversity. He concluded by saying that this book will guide those who want to do bird watching in Kohima. He also thanked Vedpal Singh, Chief Wildlife Warden, Nagaland for his support and his contribution of photos of the birds.
Dharmendra Prakash IFS, PCCF & HoFF, Nagaland congratulated the Division for the initiative and encouraged them to continue the good work. The PCCF was immensely pleased to know that a variety of species of birds and trees are found in Forest Colony, Kohima. He encouraged the team to come up with more such documentation in the future.
