The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner M. Shayung Phom at DC’s conference hall on January 15, 2021.

The Chairman reviewed the last meeting minutes followed by work distribution for Republic Day celebration and apprised the members for launching program of Covid-19 vaccination at district hospital, Longleng on 16th January 2021 along with the rest of the district. Therefore, the DC appealed to the members to extend full cooperation and support to the Medical department and create mass awareness on safety of the vaccine and to refrain from rumors spreading in the social media.

DC reiterated all officers to be in their place of posting and cater to the needs of the people.  He asserted that representing subordinate officials during DPDB meeting hampers the decision of the meeting and reminded to abstain from sending their subordinates during DPDB and other important meetings concerning the development of the district.

Dr.S. Imnameren Phom, DPO (RCH/UIP) Longleng gave a power point presenting on launching of vaccination for Covid-19 at district hospital, setting up and conducting vaccination sessions. He informed that vaccination well be given only to those beneficiaries who were preregistered in a phase manner. The first phase will be given to health care workers followed by frontline workers, old age above 50 years and conclude with below 50 years age group.

Dr. Meren also informed that normal health care service facilities will continue as usual in the hospital during the vaccination period and full SOP like social distancing, face mask will be strictly maintain and hand washing facilities will be provided at the vaccination site. Only one person will be allowed to enter the vaccination room for privacy and vaccinated person will be kept in the observation room for 30 minutes. He also stressed on the role and responsibilities of the different Vaccination Officers and Vaccinator Officer for smooth conduct and safety of the beneficiaries.

Later the house also discussed and deliberated on the ongoing upgradation, repair and renovation of various roads connecting the district and the concern departments were directed to be more active and supervise the projects for quality roads in the district.
