Home Commissioner, Abhijit Sinha, IAS stated that in view of the South Asian Athletic Federation (SAAF) Cross Country Championships and 56th National Cross Country Championships, to be held in Kohima on 26th March 2022, it has been decided to hold a mass social work on 23rd March 2022 from 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM in Kohima with the involvement of State Government employees and the general public.

He further said that the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima may call a meeting of all the departments/CSOs/ULBs/Colonies/Wards/GBs concerned etc for planning out the mass social work to make all the wards free of any kind of waste/rubble/muck/foliage overgrowth etc. Any kind of waste including debris and building materials, which may be creating public nuisance or giving a dirty look along the roads and paths should also be removed/disposed off.

The general public/CSOs may be requested to co-operate and provide assistance in helping carrying out the mass social work successfully.
