Tuensang District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) conducted a mock drill at GHSS Tuensang on 29th April 2020. This is only a simulation of real emergency situation and exercise to measure the readiness and preparedness plan of the district and also tackling actual situation in event of unfortunate outbreak of COVID - 19.

According to the mock drill situation as soon as the news broke about a patient from District Hospital (DH) Tuensang that patient was tested positive for COVID - 19, the stated that the positive patient was 24 years male residing with his parents at 'B' colony High school area in Tuensang Town, he was arrived from Dimapur by taxi on 14th April 2020. Then the hectic case scenario was started with the following exercises:

The family members of the positive patient were taken away by ambulance to designated Quarantine centre and collected their samples and sent for testing. The driver, passengers and friends of the patient were instructed to undergo strict home quarantine on the same day by the CMO control room. Basing on the information from Rapid Response Team (RRT) and after the urgent District Administration and Police sealed the containment zone along with the District Hospital seal immediately. 

All the primary contacts of high risk suspect sent to DH for sample collection and Facility quarantine for observation. 

Disinfecting the containment zone, district administration also deployed the field level workers of Anganwati/Asha/Trained Volunteers for contact tracing. Mock drill exercises witnessed development of the actual resources personnel like medical workers, security personnel, trained volunteers and other officers and machineries and equipments like ambulance, trucks, protective gears/PPEs, sealing ribbons etc.
