The monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on 9th November 2020 at Deputy Commissioner conference hall, Wokha. Vice Chairman DPDB Wokha & DC, Orenthung Lotha chaired the meeting.

Principal Mt.Tiyi College, Libanthung Ngullie presented the activities of the college through power point presentation where he stated that Mount Tiyi College is the only Government College in Wokha District, established in 1974 as a private college which initially provided PU (Arts)course under NEHU, and later upgraded to degree level in 1979. The college was taken over by the State Government in 1987, and affiliated to the Nagaland University in 1995.He also said that the college is committed to educate the students from all backgrounds helps them explore possibilities, advance knowledge and engage them in self and social growth. Strive to innovate effective ways to create a learner-centred environment for all minds to interact, assimilate and pursue excellence.

Highlighting some of the achievements during the recent years, Ngullie said that black topping of road from the college gate to the main building through the contribution by DY. Chief
Minister, Y. Patton, Minister for Home & PWD, was successfully completed. Women’s hostel extension completed, Construction of Basketball court completed, 8 lane running track under construction, Boys Hostel extension under RUSA completed, Construction of Indoor Badminton Stadium completed, Roofing of the main building completed, Tribal Museums successfully set up, Introduced honours in all the six Subjects, Online examination done with98.76% pass, NAAC Assessment successfully carried out Facilities provided by the College, includes Hostel for Boys & Girls, Sports facilities like Volley ball court, Basket ball court, Indoor Stadium, 8 (eight) lane running track (under construction), Library facilities, Automated Library with e-Books & Internet facilities, Computers Lab with internet facilities, Smart class room (4 classrooms), Photocopy facilities with 3 (three) Xerox machines, Generator facilities, Conference room, Tribal Museum, Smart board – 2 nos, Bio-metric machine for attendance recording, Aqua guard (4 nos) for clean drinking water, Canteen facilities, IGNOU Study Centre, Common room for Boys & Girls, 2 (two)College Buses. To turn the College into a centre of excellence catering to the needs of the district and also of the neighbouring districts, he urged all to extend support and cooperation.

Executive Engineer, PHED informed that departments wanting to avail new pipeline/ water connection are requested to submit application for the same.

ADC & Administrator Wokha Town Council also informed the board that proposal for construction for approach roads leading to important locations within the town area have already been submitted to Department of Urban Development for consideration.
