The closing Ceremony of Mungmung-cum-Mini Hornbill Festival was graced by Minister PWD, Housing & Mechanical Engineering, P. Bashangmongba as special guest on 5th September at Local ground, Longkhim.
The special guest while addressing the public gathering has said that we need to avoid hypocrisy, jealousy and hatred amongst the brothers and sisters, and a sense of unity and appreciation must be developed to promote our society and to go forward. While highlighting on the issue of unemployed educated youths in the region , he said that many educated youths are seeking government jobs only, where he encouraged youths to set up local entrepreneurial ventures, skill development and farming for surviving. Chang while appreciating USLP for being advancement and unity amongst the Sangtam community has appeal to the Sangtam community.
Short speeches were delivered by Deputy Comissioner Tsg, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, President, PPC, Y.B. Angam, and President Konyak Union, K. Yamao.
The activities of the programme included Angangba Cultural troupe performing the Warrior Song by beating of log drum, Folk dance performed by Cultural troupe(male) from Phir Ahi Village, Chimonger Village, Chungtor Village, TrongerVillage and Tsungti Mulong Singrep Village and folk dance (female) from Kiding Village, Angangba Village, TsaruVillage and Holongba Village. Traditional games were also displayed on cutting of Log and Spare throw.
Earlier special song was presented by Lumkhala Sangtam, welcome address by Vice President, USLP, KipitongSangtam. And invocation was led by Chaplain PBF, Lkm and closing note was delivered by General Secretary, USLP, T. Rongli Sangtam. Panel of commentary were Likokba, Temjenjungshi Sangtam, K.Vidila Jing and ThsarolaSangtam.
